Charitable Giving Tax Receipt Guidelines

To receive your year-end gift receipt for 2011, all cash and checks donated must be received at our shelter on 12/31/11 or earlier - and donations which are mailed must be post-marked on or before 12/31/11. Credit card donations made on December 31st will qualify as a 2011 donation also, even if you (the donor) do not pay the credit card bill until 2012.

These laws are out of our hands as a non-profit 501 (c)(3); if you have additional concerns or questions regarding charitable giving tax deductions, please consult with your tax preparer or financial advisor. Thank you for your understanding and we are always grateful for your generous support!
Together we make a difference!

How do I give?

• Donate online through our secure processing system - click on the "Donate with Impact" button now!

• Your gift to Ruth Meiers Hospitality House may be sent or brought to our office at:
Ruth Meiers Hospitality House, 1800 E Broadway Avenue, Bismarck, ND 58501

• Credit card contributions are also accepted in our office or by phone. Please contact Julie at (701) 222-2108.

• Memorials and bequests to honor friends and family are greatly appreciated.

• Many employers allow you to give through payroll deduction - many businesses offer employee matched gifts as well, which is a wonderful way to enhance your gift.

Planned gifts like Charitable Gift Annuities, allow donors to make a gift to the charity and that gift will also give the donor a lifetime income that generally exceeds rates on banks, CD's or savings accounts. Donors also receive a tax deduction for a portion of the gift. For more information on charitable giving please contact Sue at 222-2108 or suejm@rmhh.org.
